Meet our new pets. Nemo, Marlin, and the crab Billy Bob or Rockey (he's the rock looking thing in the corner). Jonathan keeps renaming him.
Jason is the type of consumer that once he gets something in his head that he wants, he has to go out right then and get it. He came in on Monday and said we need a saltwater aquarium. Jonathan would love it. So we did.
Jason had to get the Ph balance and the salt level just right and then it had to cycle for 24 hours. So finally after hearing "Are we going to get fish yet?" 500 times yesterday, we went to PetCo to pick out the fish. Of course Jonathan wanted every fish that is in the aquarium in Finding Nemo.
Nemo and Marlin (Nemo's Dad)
OK let me tell you the story behind the big ugly crab. We had all decided on a bright red fire shrimp as our tank cleaner, then Jonathan started getting restless, so I took him over to look at the mice, rabbits, rats, birds, etc. When we go back to where Jason is the shrimp is still in the tank and this huge crab is in the plastic bag. We need a tank cleaner and the fire shrimp was $30! So since we weren't 100% sure we had the perfect living environment for the fish, Jason decided on the $10 decorative crab instead. It is pretty interesting that he covers himself with rocks and shells to help blend in. But he looks like a huge taranchula. The guy helping us assured me the crab could not get out of the tank. Let's hope he's right.
