Sandia Peak Challenge

Jason and Kevin had been training for 6 weeks for this Big day. It was Kevin's first organized run, the Sandia Peak 2 mile Fun Run. I was told it wasn't that fun running on rocks with branches hitting you as you run by. Susan and I decided to load up the kids and cheer the guys on.
On the way to the top of the mountain.
Calm and Collected before the run
Jonathan having fun racing with daddy before the real race began.

He's coming toward the finish line.
Pre-race photo. Jason is standing on a lower step. No, he is not that short.

And they're off............. notice they are all smiling right now.
Jonathan wanted to run with them. Luckily Stewart was there to catch him and make him turn around.
He's still running.
Here comes Jason! He was the first one from his race to cross the finish line

Post race photo. The view from the other side of the mountain
For some reason the other side of the mountain gets more moisture than the side that faces ABQ. I had no idea trees grew out here. :)
More trees!!! I think I was taking pictures because I was in shock.
