Music is very important to our family, but music to me is not just what you hear on the radio or what you sing in church. Music can have no melody at all. Music to me is the sweet sound of children's laughter, Jonathan playing 2 strings on his guitar, or blowing a crazy tune on the harmonica. Music is the sound of Jonathan and Jason wrestling, listening to Jonathan's imagination as he plays out different scenarios with all his action figures, or his singing in the bathtub. Music is Jaden's sweet coos, his adorable belly laugh that shakes his entire body, his sweet squeal when he rolls over (he still surprises himself), and his burping after a meal that says Thanks Mom, I'm Full! And yes music is also the sweet sound of silence when both boys are sleeping at the same time.
But every now and then Jason will sit down at the piano and just play. No rehearsing for Sunday, no sheet music, but play what he feels inside. It's piano therapy for the soul. So relaxing.

Jason and Jaden
Jonathan was shooting rabbits and birds while Jason was playing a very relaxing Jesus Loves Me.
"LA!!!" He's learning his place in the family
That is a lap full of love.

ReplyDeleteWell, Andrea, I know you said you had an interest in photography and that shows, but maybe you consider writing.....
ReplyDeleteBrought a big ole' tear to my eye! I still miss hearing that piano play with the soft pedal down after everyone went to bed.....
Love you all!
